Girls Varsity Basketball · Lady Trojans move to 8-2

The Lady Trojans move to an 8-2 overall record after defeating an overly aggressive Florence Lady Gopher squad 43-37 and a heavily favored Paradise Honors Lady Panther team 46-16.

Against the Lady Gophers, the Trojans struggled in the first half trying to find their groove offensively and defensively.  It was tough due to the fact that the Gophers tenacious style of play was able to disrupt many of the things the Trojans were trying to execute.

In the second half, after icing a couple of bumps and rubbing out a few bruises, the Trojans came out in full tactical gear, staying disciplined and imposing their will to dominate the second half. Chloe Frarley led all scores with 15 points.

That type of mental focus and toughness carried over to the following game against the Lady Panthers.  From the opening tip to the sounding of the horn, the Lady Trojans were firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball.  In the first half, the Lady Trojans stifling defense held the Lady Panthers to a shocking 5 points in the first half.  In the second half, things didn’t improve much for the Lady Panthers only scoring 11 points to finish the game with 16, while the Lady Trojans poured in 46. Jada Pourier led all scores with 16 points.

The next shallenge that sits in front of them are the Lady Crusaders of Northwest Christian this Friday at 6pm.
